This scholarship fund was started in 2001, in memory of Bob Keene ('28), one
of the most involved alumni ever to graduate from our chapter. Bob attended 73
consecutive Founders' Day events for every year that he was a living member of
Pi Kappa Alpha. The scholarship fund is a way to recognize his dedication to
the fraternity, by awarding it to the most dedicated student member. And we will
keep Bob in our minds as we award the scholarship each year at Founders' Day.
In 2002 the active chapter set aside money to award a scholarship in Bob's name to the very
first recipient, Rory McLeod ('99). In 2003 and 2004 the local alumni
association provided the funds. Then at Founders Day 2004 the alumni and actives in attendance
joined together to reach the $10,000 level and endowed the scholarship.
