Adam Benson awarded Jack Lux Scholarship
|
Adam Benson ('01) has been named the 2003-04 recipient of the prestigious Jack Lux Scholarship, an award given by the Pi Kappa Alpha Educational Foundation in Memphis. He is the first winner of this scholarship in Beta Beta history.
Jack Lux was a 1953 initiate of Theta Chapter at Rhodes College in Memphis. He served the Fraternity as trustee and treasurer of the Educational Foundation and was national auditor of the Fraternity for 30 years. Jack also was chairman of the Foundation's Endowment Fund. He received the Loyalty Award and was inducted into the Order of West Range, the Fraternity's highest honor. Jack Lux was a true Pike.
He passed away in 2001 and left an endowment that will generate annual scholarships in perpetuity. His wish was to have the awards go to those studying the fine world of accounting. As such, Adam recently received a $500 check from the Foundation to help pay for his education.
Adam is a dedicated Pike who has served as both president and rush chairman, and who received Beta Beta's own Outstanding Undergraduate Award at this year's Founders Day.
Congratulations Adam!
