Pikes at the UW get a brand new look!

Thanks to a generous donation from Dennis Isham ('59), sweat equity from our undergraduate members,
and funding from the house corporation, Beta Beta chapter has a brand new look.
A great summer for Pi Kappa Alpha featuring our 2nd Smythe Award and a 22-man pledge class was capped off in
September with our most visible renovation project to date: the complete renovation of the front of
our property.

The alumni house corporation was driven to action in June when we learned that roots from the old holly bushes
were growing into our sewer line, and that much of the front yard would need to be excavated to replace
the old clay pipe. But our misfortune turned into great fortune thanks to the generosity of Dennis Isham ('59) and
the forethought of SMC Jeremy Pelley ('99). Jeremy suggested installing a long-desired retaining wall at
the front of our property, but as the alumni treasurer, Dennis already knew that the house corporation
could not afford for the additional work. The renovation became possible when Dennis offered to pay
for the costs of the new retaining wall and Jeremy pledged the manpower of our chapter.
If you get the chance to come by and see our new look soon, don't be surprised if you have to wait in line.
We are getting quite a bit of attention! But it is well deserved and the improvement at the chapterhouse
is remarkable. Come visit and see for yourself!
